This speciality from the Pays d’Auge is pure Normandy cheese tradition and unites the best of what the region has to offer with the skill and experience of its people: fantastic dairy products and excellent brandies! Production of the Graindorge is similar to that of a traditional Camembert. What’s special about it is that before the milk is skimmed, calvados is added, which gives the cheese a very balanced and clear flavour of calvados and apples. In order to strengthen these flavours further, the rind is also sprayed with calvados. The cheese matures for 5 weeks in total. A cheese with a fine, soft and meltingly unctuous texture. This allows it to bring out its strong flavour and the wonderful apple notes.
